Bartie

Meet Bartie, a Rottweiler pup from a champion bloodline in France, and he is, quite simply, one of the most special pups.

Bartie has been in foster with our wonderful Tiff, where he has been immersed in a busy, vibrant household full of dogs, cats, and people of all kinds. He has navigated a constantly changing environment, learned to hold his own amongst a large group of adult dogs (who aren’t always the friendliest!), and done it all with a wagging tail and a heart full of joy.

Bartie is healthy, intelligent, brave, loving and eager to please. He has the most fantastic temperament – well adjusted, happy, adaptable and good natured to his core. He is learning language and commands, coming to call, responding to a whistle and clicker, travelling in the car, and walking (almost!) beautifully on the lead. His house manners are coming on wonderfully too.

Now here’s the thing about Bartie – he is blind. And honestly? He barely seems to notice. He copes with his blindness brilliantly, navigating his world with confidence, curiosity and courage. We suspect he may perceive some shadows, though this hasn’t been confirmed. His blindness is incidental to who he is. It does not define him. What defines him is his spirit.  Bartie needs a forever home with:

* Rottweiler experience (preferred)

* Blind dog experience (preferred, but not essential – motivation, love and commitment matter most)

* Someone ready to keep expanding his world with solid support, training, confidence-building and oceans of cuddles

* A commitment to neutering
