Taco

Meet Taco, a gentle and loving boy who has been through a lot in his short life. He deserves patience, understanding, and a place where he can finally feel safe.  Taco is currently in foster in Monterroso, Spain, but he can travel for the right person/family. 

Taco was adopted from the pound as a puppy but sadly he spent nearly a year confined to a crate, learning nothing and experiencing what appears to have been abuse. The signs of that trauma are still with him — he can be fearful in certain situations, and gets very still when overwhelmed. He’s not aggressive, but pressure is something he simply cannot cope with, and being shut in a room is a hard no for him.

Taco is great with dogs, children, car rides, leash walking and being with humans.  He is calm inside the home and outside.  His ideal home is a house with free access to a garden, a resident dog as a companion, preferably female, experienced owners who understand trauma and fear responses, a calm, low-pressure environment — no rushing, and no forcing, no rooms he’ll be shut into.
